Time flies...

Wow..just realized it's been 2 weeks since I posted last...
I don't really have very many new projects...
So it's a good time to share my projects from the July issue of Scrabook News & Review magazine.
(I have to hold them until 30 days after publication, and then I sometimes forget to go back and post them..)

Ok so first off, I've been playing along with the sketches over at Sketch N Scrap...this is their first Nov sketch...

And I used Joseph's most recent school photo & the new LYB school line for this:
oops, my photo is a little crooked?

And over at Sketches in Thyme (DT) our sketch this week is:
and I did this layout from summer vacation...
no matter where Joseph would start playing, eventually a whole bunch of other boys would join him.

Projects for the week..!

So..I have quite a few to share today....

Sketch #19 at SKETCH N SCRAP

A card that I made for a tutorial at FROSTED DESIGNS (DT)

Also for FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge this week is paint/mist/ink...
I catch mist overspray on papertowels...I punched one (red) and used it for this layout.

And a few I did for My Scraps and More challenges

Use word "pumpkin" and pic must have pumpkins

Use 'bad' pic....
I printed this pic (which I acutally like) on cardstock on my home printer...
I covered it with clear gesso so the ink would stick and when I did that, it smeared the pic.
So it just sat on my desk....  until a challenge came along that made me go ahead and give it a shot...

Do a 2 pager...

a card using tapes..(I used Heidi Swapp paper tape...old stuff!!)

Adventure, Swingin, & some cute older pics of Joseph

Here are this weeks' projects (sometimes done a long time ago, but it's their week to post...)

Over at ARTFUL DELIGHT I have played along with their layout and card sketch using this month's kit....

And for SKETCH N SCRAP I played along with their first sketch for October

And now for some of my DT projects:
At THINKING THROUGH DESIGN our thought this week is burlap

My layout and thought:
I love burlap’s natural neutral color and the awesome texture it can add to a page and it was perfect to maintain the “rustic nature” feel for this older photo of my son in a tree.   I also love that it can help “hide” a busier background paper.  So that is how I’ve used it on this layout.  I wanted to keep the “hint” of the pattern paper, but not have it overwhelm the layout, so the burlap is really nice to achieve that and also add some texture.  I also used some of the little strings that I pulled out of the frayed edges of the burlap to make a nice little embellishment border to ground the photo.  I also changed the color of the burlap in two ways, one by using a sponge tip and dipped it in ink to make border lines in the burlap around the photo and second by simply dripping on some red mist.

And at SKETCHES IN THYME I used this sketch for the next layout:

And finally...at FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge is WILD (use the word WILD)...
So here is a layout from Legoland

Sketch N Scrap, TTD, SIT & FD layouts

Lots of acryonms, huh?  Well, that's what happens when you live in a scrappy world!!!  LOL!!

So...I'm having fun playing with Sketches over at SKETCH N SCRAP...
Their second one this month is this...

and I whipped up this little layout ...

Joseph wanted me to use the little fishies...so I was sure to get those on there!!

And over at THINKING THROUGH DESIGN our "thought" was journaling with lists

So, I had this "not so good" picture of Joseph and I really wanted to use it...so my journaling is all about the "bad" picture...double click to enlarge it to read...it's kinda cute...

My "thought" that I shared for the above layout:
I love using lists to “put things in order”…in my life and in my scrapbook pages.  I actually started with this floral paper and found this “not so good” photo of my son in some wildflowers but OH NO….his eyes are closed (from the sun)…so I decided to “list” the events that made that photo turn out that way…it’s fun and funny and I got to use up a “not so good” photo by just talking about what happened.

And at SKETCHES IN THYME we have this fun sketch this week:

and I turned it into a single page layout:

And at FROSTED DESIGNS this week...our challenge is EMBOSSING...
I stamped and embossed the white "words" (Stampin Up stamp)
and the other 2 white designs are modeling paste made w/a stencil.
I love the simplicity of this layout...
Pics are Joseph posing with the "Darth Maul" (Star Wars character) statue at Legoland.

Thanks for coming by !!
Blessings to you all...my friends!!

Artful Delight Kit, Sketch N Scrap & CK Blog layouts

OK...just a couple this week to share:

Over at Sketch N Scrap they have this fun sketch:

and I made this layout:

And at MEMORABLE SEASONS there is a challenge to use a "sunburst", so I used my Sept kit from
ARTFUL DELIGHT -- The paper had 3 sections that were "specific" to Birthday, so I used other papers & covered those sections...

And for FROSTED DESIGNS this week, our challenge is Journaling cards...
I used 4 on this layout...

And a couple for the CK Blog...

This one is to use a "camera" embellishment:

and my fave today is this one... using "scale"...
I used different sized Stars...
And..I like the little circle flag embellies under the right edge of the photo (between the title words)...they are actually 3 diff embelles.. chipboard, sticker & brad...

This week's projects

Just a few to share today...

Last month at Memorable Seasons I had a DT kit from Crate called Little Boy Blue..and this is the last layout from that month.  Also, I have resigned from the DT & DT coordinator position ... for various reasons.  However, I will be staying on in more of an administrative role...coordinating stuff and being a liaision for the store.

And this one also for Memorable Seasons...I lifted our "Member of the Month"

and for Frosted Designs our challenge is to use Office Supplies...so I created this... using a binder clip and a couple of huge paper clips.

And for Sketches in Thyme our sketch this week:

And my layout...(Giraffes at LegoLand)

And a couple that are really for fun..
this one I submitted for the Repetition Challenge at Club CK

And this one for another challenge at Club CK..
