"It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all."  Author:  Laura Ingalls Wilder

And...here is my interpretation of the quote...

I had these cute bubble photos of my 9 year old son Joseph with his Cousin (age 4.5) on our family vacation to Ohio earlier in July.  They had so much fun playing together since they don't see each other very often.

AND....if you become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment and tell me where/what you did/are doing on your summer vacation this year, I'll put all those names in a random drawing for a RAK from me!!  Come back on Aug 2nd to see if you were chosen!!

Desert Biking

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge is "OUTDOORS".....

Here is Joseph in the Desert at the end of our street....Desert Biking on his new Mountain Bike... I guess I should be happy that it's not MOUNTAIN BIKING....YET!!!

Crossover

This week at SKETCHES IN THYME we have this fun sketch...

and I used these photos of Joseph as he crossed over from "Cub Scouts" to Webloes....

Heart Cards -- fun use of Washi tape

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge is:

Washi tape, ribbon, twine...

Use at least 2

So on my cards, I used all of them!!

To make the hearts:  I took a piece of white cardstock and just put rows of the different Red Washi tapes.  Then I cut out the large one and punched the 2 on the smaller card.

Pretty Pigskin Pic

This week at SKETCHES IN THYME we have this fun sketch:

And I'll tell you what the journaling is about...basically I did a football photo shoot with Joseph in the backyard.  When he saw this photo printed, he adamantly told me that I was not allowed to scrapbook it since the pose looked "girly".  So after about a month, I finally asked him if I could scrap it IF I did by making the subject of the layout the story about he doesn't like the photo......here you go buddy!!!  Thanks for being a good sport!

Merry and Bright

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS we are challenging you to use POLKA DOTS....

I had this fun velum paper (big gold dots), so I used that to document the boys putting up the Christmas lights a few months ago.  Nothing like a Christmas layout in June, right...lol?  But I'm never caught up and I don't scrap chronologically (necessarily), so whatever floats my boat is what gets done...LOL!!

Busy Fun, Busy Boy, Busy Life, Busy Joy

So this week at SKETCHES IN THYME we have this awesome sketch...

Joseph helped me come up with the title..but I saw this Simple Stories paper had the days of the week on it and it looked like a RULER (yellow on left side of layout)...so it immediately made me want to document how busy our spring is with all of his activities.   School, Homework, Football, Scouts, Club Basketball & Basketball shooting drills....and silly stuff like Chores (no photo...lol!!)

One of my favorite layouts that I've done recently!!!

And while I'm here...I had a blog post at Scrapbook News & Review today...
I did my take on THIS SKETCH:

And this Joseph from football season (spring)

Butterfly Field Guide

At FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge this week
 is to use this sketch

combined with the theme: Things with Wings

Super Star & Friends....

Today our sketch at Sketches in Thyme we have this fun sketch with lots of circle elements....
I flipped it a left to right and also changed the size of the circles to fit my theme... Joseph at warm-ups before a football game.

I also want to share a layout of Joseph and his buddy Isaiah...

It's a photo from last year, but a great opportunity to showcase the new

Elle's Studio line called Cameron. that I just got a few days ago..LOVE IT!!!

My Super Star

Well, everyone knows that I'm a huge fan of Susan Stringfellow's sketches over at Sketch Savvy

But I caught her email this week that she had a Sketchy Thursday sketch for the Scraptastic Club blog...

So, I"m not sure if it's ok that I didn't use their kit?  I hope so, since I'm not a subscriber (yet?)...I was checking it all out and it looks totally cool.  Anyhoo...Here is the sketch and my layout..I used Fancy Pants Park Bench line and I snuck an extra photo on my layout!
