My project is for my son's 5th grade teacher. I bought a blank door hanger and wanted to make her a door hanger....
I used Gelatos from the Frosted Designs store --
I put "Come in" on one side and I ORIGINALLY put "Please Wait" on the 2nd side....but when my son saw it, he told me that was not correct. He said it should say "SHH Testing".... I guess he would know best, so I changed it.
Added some modeling paste (from FD store), a few school-themed chipboard, canvas and rub-ons and this is my completed project that will go along with a gift card for a holiday teacher gift this season.
Oh...hope you got this far!! My Secret word is ALREADY!!

I used Gelatos from the Frosted Designs store --
On a white sheet of Cardstock, I measured 1 color per 2 inches...
And then I scribbled the Gelato color in each row...
Then I used my Water Brush (from the Frosted Designs store) to "spread" the gelato color -- kind of like spreading paint...
You can really see in the photo below if you check out the red where I've "spread it" vs. where it's still the raw gelato color.
Then I cut out the cardstock and adhered it to the hanger....(no photos of that... that'd be pretty boring, huh?)
I also Mod-Podge'd it to adhere it and to "set" the Gelato so they won't smear later. When I did that, some of the gelato smeared from color to color...I tried to be careful and not smear too much, and I'm happy with how it turned out. -- I think it looks "blended".

Frosted Designs - 2 layouts - Just Jump in & Hello Grade 5
It's my day over at Frosted Designs today....see a copy of the post below and scroll all the way to the bottom for a second layout...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone...Joni here today sharing a fun colorful layout that I did after I found myself sitting at my scrapbook table frustrated with my son for leaving his "trash" on my table.
I wanted to share how I created the really cool circular design that houses my title using GELATO's and my son's leftover trash that I mentioned!
Does everyone know what a SPIROGRAPH is?
It's a "kids" toy from "way back".... that uses plastic circles with holes in them to create really cool designs. They are still popular today and my son got one recently as a gift.
And...here is a layout that I did for a challenge about "FALL".... Back to School always reminds me that Fall is near so I did this layout of Joseph from the 1st day of school.

Does everyone know what a SPIROGRAPH is?
It's a "kids" toy from "way back".... that uses plastic circles with holes in them to create really cool designs. They are still popular today and my son got one recently as a gift.
So after my son makes one (they usually end up circular) -- he uses my circle cutter, which is in my scrapbook room of course, to cut out his design before adding to his collection. This means that the leftover paper ends up sitting on my scrapbook table. Funny how he puts away the circle cutter, but not the excess paper.
So, as I sat down one day...I saw his "trash" and had an idea to use the different sizes of circles left in his paper as templates....
On this first one, you can even see the larger spirograph design that he didn't cut out.
I used my Gelatos to draw a yellow circle just inside the cut-out circle.
Then I did the same thing with blue using a larger circle.
Then I used my finger to swipe from the "outline" and push the color "in" towards the center.
This is how it looked when I was done.
I added lots of Washi Tapes and tickets from the Fancy Pants Nautical line to add color to the layout.
Thanks for letting me share with you today!
Here is the layout again.

Thanks for hanging out today!

Flight Time & a few extra layouts
Today I'm hosting over at the Frosted Designs blog...here is my post (and then a few others just for fun)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's Joni Parker hosting today's post... and I'm sharing with you how I use typical Project Life elements but on a traditional scrapbook layout.
Here I used the Elle's Studio line "Everyday Moments" and created a layout that is in the typical block style of a project life page, but I used a 12x12 background instead of pocket pages.
I used pieces from the Journal Tags (Highlights), from Bits and Pieces (Extraordinary), from Lil Snippets (Details Please and Remember) and I cut a piece from a larger sheet (Happiness Found)
I also used a Jillibean Soup mini placemat for a frame .. (Best Day Ever).
So don't be afraid to purchase items that are created for Project Life...those can be used just as well on traditional scrapbooking layouts (and they are easy to use too!)!!
