PROUD & SPARKLY!!

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS we have this sketch ... and I turned it a little to create my layout.

And at SKETCHES IN THYME this week we had an "open" challenge, meaning we can use any sketch we want.  I turned to my fave sketch site SKETCH SAVVY and used this sketch ... yes again...but with a little more interpretation than last time!!

Experience Life!!

Ok...I've got lots of DT work done this week...but that means I don't have much to post (yet)...

But here is a layout that I did using Susan Stringfellow's Sketch #51 from SKETCH SAVVY  ... using Basic Grey Wander line & wood veneers from Studio Calico.

honestly...her sketches ROCK!!!  (I did one for the February Memorable Seasons DT last night and OMG...I can't wait to share it... but that'll have to wait until mid-Feb !!!)

Title Master & Guest Designer on my blog today!!!

Hello all!!!  Welcome to yet another LONG post!!!  (all layouts!!)   I figure you'd rather visit me once a week and see it all rather than coming back every day (and I'd sure hate for you to miss anything...lol...jk!!)
If you make it to the bottom, you'll get the "Guest Designer" info....

This week at SKETCHES IN THYME we have this cute little sketch (below my layout)..
I was having trouble coming up with a title...enter the 'title master' (7 yr old Joseph)...and wa..la..

And at FROSTED DESIGNS the challenge this week is PAINT!!! Yea...I love paint.  Now even though I'm on the SKETCH team at Frosted, I did this layout so I could also share a tutorial on how I did it using VASELINE!!!  Drop by Frosted on Sunday to check that out..!!!

And this week at Alphabet Challenge our challenge is K=Keys....  this is such a simple layout!!  but I really like it.  And, this is my last post at Alphabet Challenge, I've decided to step down after fulfulling my term.

And at MEMORABLE SEASONS we have this sketch as our monthly sketch challenge...
it was created by Susan Stingfellow who has this awesome sketch blog called SKETCH SAVVY.
Here's the sketch & my layout:

Used Basic Grey Jovial line..(love this line!!)

Also wanted to share my DT kit layouts from MEMORABLE SEASONS
This month we got to "pick" our patterned papers & Jill added our embellies.
I chose some papers from the new Echo Park Little Boy line and also some Basic Grey Oliver.  Also I requested a few Hambly transparancies.  Here is my entire kit... and the layouts I did are below.
Also, please note that the very last layout was done by my "GUEST DESIGNER"

GUEST DESIGER LAYOUT!!  So, as I'm scrapping, Joseph decides he wants to do a layout too.  I told him he could as long as he didn't do one about animals and had to do one about himself.
He did this one about the skateboard he got for Christmas (and these pics were on xmas day).
I LOVE his title... OFF BALANCE...  Now you know why I called him the "title master"!
And he used "smooch" to make the blue circles... I asked what he was doing..
"those are wheels momma"..  Ah...yes they are!!

Thanks SOOOOO much for sticking around to the end!!!

Frosted Sketch & Crop Challenges at Memorable Seasons

Well, I'm a little behind in posting layouts...and last week was a huge week over at MEMORABLE SEASONS.......so I'll just jump right in...

AT FROSTED DESIGNS this week, this is our sketch & my layout... used Pink Paislee...and yes, I intentionally used the "edge strip" on the layout..I liked the name of the paper and thought it was unique...

We currently have a crop running over at MEMORABLE SEASONS .. the main part was over the weekend 7-9, but you can go check out the challenges & still have until the 16th to get your layouts uploaded.  The DT had some great challenges & games and so here are the challeges that I posted and then a couple of the other ones that I completed based on other challenges.
The crop was based on numbers...1-12...each number representing a "month" of the year.  Then each DT member created some kind of challenge around it:

Challenge #1 (MINE) - Use ONE photo, Use ONE color (plus black & white), Winter themed (for January)

I also had challenge #6 - Use 6 papers (cardstock/pp both count), use multiple photos, Summer themed (for June), and bonus for using the number 6 somewhere on the layout.

Other challenges I did:
#3 - 3 photos, 3+ diff mfgrs, 3 word title, use green (for March)

Challenge #5 - there was a really cool Irish quote..(I don't really want to type it all here)...and we had to use inspiraton from it.  I used RAINBOW, FLOWERS, HEART & HAPPINESS..

Challenge #10 - Use Red, Number 10 somewhere (I used in my journaling), 10 circles (I accidently ended up with more).   I also used this really cool sketch from BLUE MOON SCRAPBOOKING and it was Melissa's first sketch...if this is any indication of her talent as a sketch artist...they're going to be fun & I'm going to be back!!!

And challenge #12 - Use 12 grids (I used more...), use the number 12 in title or subtitle, Xmas themed.

OK..well that's enough for one day... We also revealed our DT kits over at Memorable Seasons on Friday too...but that's like 8 more layouts to show you.... I'll save those for my next post... probably on Thursday!!

MY DT Challenge at Memorable Seasons!!

This is my week to post the DT challenge over at MEMORABLE SEASONS!!
We are also having a crop (FUN FUN FUN) that starts this Friday...Jan 7th.  It's a crop based on NUMBERS... 1-12, so each number also corresponds to a month.... like 6 is June...  so there will be 12 challenges from the DT and each will be different and unique...(the crop is 3 days, but you have a whole week to finish up the challenges!!)  I have numbers 1 & 6, so come back this weekend and I'll let you in on my challenges for the crop.

But here is my regular challenge for this week... AND I also based it on the NUMBERS theme, so it's a litle WARM UP to our crop!!!

So...does anyone else have alphas that look like this?

Now what I'm specifically talking about is that I've used up quite a few of the alphas and NONE of the NUMBERS!! Why do they give us so many stinkin' numbers anyway? (Give me some extra E's & O's anyday!)
Ok...so here's this week's challenge...and notice that is relates to NUMBERS.... (Which is the theme of this weekend's crop!!)

Get out your number stickers, thickers...whatever numbers... and create the background of you layout using them.!!

My idea for my own layout was to attach some number stickers using them as masks, mist the paper and then remove them. I wasn't really very happy with how it turned out, but when I removed the numbers that I used as masks, I put them onto another (blue) piece of paper and I liked that...so I added a few more and then they didn't stick since I'd attached them so many times..... so I added a transparancy over the top to keep it all in place.

Now, you should know I can't leave well enough alone...so I went back to that first piece of misted cardstock that I didn't like...and I ended up turning that into a layout that I'm happy with too!

The entries for this challenge will work like all our regular monthly challenges and will be due by the end of January.

Upcoming Crop info & DT layouts

Starting this Friday Jan 7th, we are having a CROP over at MEMORABLE SEASONS .. always lots of fun...  great challenges, games & fun times!!

Also this is my turn at Memorable Seasons to post the weekly DT challenge...I've got a doozy over there and it's a warm up for the upcoming crop.  (Come back tomorrow and I'll post my challenge & sample layouts here too).  And on Friday, we're revealing our January DT kits...so come back Friday to see the 8 layouts & 2 cards that I made, plus I had a "Guest Designer" help w/my kit this month and I'll be featuring that layout as well....  Ok...'nuff rambling!!

Speaking of Memorable Seasons, one of the DT challenges last week was to do your "ROUND TUIT" layout.. you know, one you just need to get around to...  I did this layout about a lullaby my grandmother used to sing to me and now I sing to Joseph.  I've been needing to do this layout for a while, so it's good I finally got "round tuit"...

And this week at Alphabet Challenge, it's I for Infant.  I did this layout of Joseph getting his first Chiropractor adjustment at 3 days old.

And at SCRAP OUR STASH our challenge for January is to do something with NEW...  NEW in the title, NEW technique, NEW supplies...etc....
So I got the new We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool...(NEW TOOL)...and used it (blue head) to make this layout:

And at SKETCHES IN THYME here is this weeks sketch & my layout:

And here is a fun little mini that I made...  used Maya Road Chipboard album covered w/ Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas papers & stickers.
