Ready 2 Ride (and BLOGGER's BLACK HOLE STRIKES AGAIN)

Well, yesterday (Tuesday) I put up a post with a bunch of layouts (from work..shhh)....even checked the post before I left work to see if I had any comments.  Got home and sometime during the evening pulled up my blog and the post was not there...  I signed into work (from home) and the screen with my "new" post was still there, but when I refreshed the screen....VANISHED!!!  Once again, I've lost a post to the BLOGGER BLACK HOLE!!!!  So, I'm going to try to recreate it today (Wednesday)... sorry that it doesn't line up with my DT posts that were YESTERDAY!!!

At SCRAP OUR STASH every month we have a "pagerize" challenge (lift someones layout)...this month Sarah did this really cute layout below called Da Boyz.
I liked the cluster of embellies at the bottom and I even had that same trim!!!  Also, I really liked her strong color scheme, so I used some LYB (older line) papers and this is my result is below.

And...this layout (that I posted a couple days ago, but wanted to share again) is showcased over at the NIKKI SIVILS blog today (yesterday).

And....  FROSTED DESIGNS sketch along Tuesdays gives us this cute little sketch...and I liked the simplicity of it, so used Bo Bunny Block Party to document last year (2009) xmas play called the Gingerman (photos of my son Joseph & his best buddy Kyle)

And, at SKETCHES IN THYME this week...it's not really my turn to have a project turned in...but I loved these buttons by our sponsor CHARLENE'S BUTTON BOX, so I used a sketch from THE SCRAPPIEST and got this little gem done!

Some snow in the Desert??

Hello... I don't normally post on Sundays...but I was honored to make the "sample" layout for Susan Stringfellow over at her sketch blog SKETCH SAVVY....   I had lots of fun using the new Jillibean Soup Christmas line!

And over at Scrap Our Stash our December challenge is to do a BIRTHDAY layout...it's our 1 year birthday of the blog (and it's someone else importants birthday too.... next week!!)
Here is a layout I did using those "day before" birthday photos..  I used Sasafrass Count Me In line which is pretty pastelly...so I went w/a Black & White photo.

Are you ready for Christmas?

We're all decorated....most (yea, most) of the presents are bought.  I still need to wrap the Santa gifts....  so we're looking good.

Here are some layouts for this week....

SKETCHES IN THYME we have this cute little sketch...and here's my layout...  I used Nikki's Tree Love papers, so I sent this to my friend Julie and hopefully we'll be seeing it on Nikki's blog soon!!

And over at Alphabet Challenge this week is H = Hats.  As I was going back loooking through some old photos, I found these pics of Joseph in the crib... with his Cat in the Hat quilt (that grandma made) and he's wearing it like a hat...so a layout is born.  This was important to document where that little quilt came from.  After I did the layout (he's 7 now), he made me pull the quilt out of his closet and he's sleeping with it again.  This is why scrapbooking is priceless!!!  I don't know if he'd ever have remembered that quilt (when he was an adult) unless I'd have done this simple page...but now he does and he'll appreciate that quilt!!

This month at MEMORABLE SEASONS our sketch designer is the super talented Susan Stringfellow...she brought us this 2 page sketch and my layout is below using Basic Grey Wander & photos from San Fran where Joseph had his charicture done.

So, I do sometimes work on layouts for fun or other challenges...(although sometimes by the time I finish them it's past the deadline...lol!!)  So here are a few more!!

Another awesome Susan Stringfellow sketch at SKETCH SAVVY and my trying to prove that a line of paper called INDIE GIRL can be used for BOYS too!!!

And at Scrapbookers Anonymous their December challenge is a layout using all rub-ons and no patterned paper.... ok, this was harder than I thought it'd be...I have TOOO many rubons to choose from and I like pp... i did use some Paper Tape (stars & red strip) & a ticket, but everything else is rubons!!!

Flying Free & Snowman Poop!!!

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS our challenge is RIBBON!!!  Now I"m not on the "regular" challenge team any more...I'm on the sketch team....but Barb over at FD calls me an "overachiever"....I kinda am proud of that!!!

So, also our sponsor this month is THE CUTTING CAFE and she sent us some really cute digis!!!  So Joseph and I used old embellie packaging, and used the digi snowflakes & digi tag to make these cute little gifts for G-parents....we used Ribbon to tie the tag onto the embellie container.

Ok..so I mentioned that I'm really on the SKETCH team at Frosted....and Tuesdays are new sketch days....(every other week)...so here is this week's sketch and my layout AND I USED RIBBON for the regular challenge this week.  I pleated it along the lower edge and added a little spash to the top right!!

And this week at ALPHABET CHALLENGE G-Glitter.... and I used glitter alphas & embellies on this layout.  Also, there is a DT call over there....I'm stepping down after I finish this round of the alphabet (K will be my last letter since I started w/L last time)...   This is mostly a card/project blog and I loved being the only layout person ... but with a total of 5 DT's.... I had to make some tough choices and this term was coming to an end, so it just seemed appropriate.
Had fun, great challenges ...great ladies....lots of commenting (over 100 entries per week!!)

And over at MEMORABLE SEAONS Kristin posted a challenge to do our "kryptonite" color...meaning the one we DON'T use.  Well as I got started...I got out this Prima Paintable paper and started working and ended up doing this layout with colored pencils....  not really what the challenge called for?  Pic in San Fran on the Cable Car (realized I need to go back and journal that on the layout!!)

What happened..?? I haven't had a blog post for 10 days??

I seem to be missing a blog post??  Not sure what happened, but I know I typed it up last week....I either didn't schedule it or save it (which it saves automatically, so that's not really a possibility) or it went into the Blogger Black Hole??  So, I'm going to double duty post in this post....  SORRY FOR THE LONG POST...but stick with me til the end and I share a treat from Thanksgiving Yesterday!!!

Alphabet Challenge Blog ... Last week was D for Doodling

and this week (today) starts E for Embossing:
(used the new embossed Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology paper)

and at SKETCHES IN THYME our sketch this week is:

And over at MEMORABLE SEASONS (link to MB) -- we had a challenge to use a line that is challenging to us or that we just are having trouble "breaking into"....  I love Websters Pages, but seem to have trouble figuing out how to actually USE them...so here is a layout I did...and a closeup to show the layering....

And thanks to Detta over at MEMORABLE SEASONS... Where we have the coolest MB ... she shared this link to a "new twist" on those handprint turkeys...
And I showed this to Joseph from the American Crafts blog (linked above)

And so we made our own version of them...used them for place cards for the G-parents on Thanksgiving and they each got a souvenier to take home...
