What happened..?? I haven't had a blog post for 10 days??

I seem to be missing a blog post??  Not sure what happened, but I know I typed it up last week....I either didn't schedule it or save it (which it saves automatically, so that's not really a possibility) or it went into the Blogger Black Hole??  So, I'm going to double duty post in this post....  SORRY FOR THE LONG POST...but stick with me til the end and I share a treat from Thanksgiving Yesterday!!!

Alphabet Challenge Blog ... Last week was D for Doodling

and this week (today) starts E for Embossing:
(used the new embossed Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology paper)

and at SKETCHES IN THYME our sketch this week is:

And over at MEMORABLE SEASONS (link to MB) -- we had a challenge to use a line that is challenging to us or that we just are having trouble "breaking into"....  I love Websters Pages, but seem to have trouble figuing out how to actually USE them...so here is a layout I did...and a closeup to show the layering....

And thanks to Detta over at MEMORABLE SEASONS... Where we have the coolest MB ... she shared this link to a "new twist" on those handprint turkeys...
And I showed this to Joseph from the American Crafts blog (linked above)

And so we made our own version of them...used them for place cards for the G-parents on Thanksgiving and they each got a souvenier to take home...

More news & more layouts!! (Yes, I do other things besides scrap!!)

Ok...welcome to today!!

First I'd like to share a layout I completed for SKETCHES IN THYME ... and I'm telling you...this will be the LAST time I enter one of their sketches challenges for  while...   Why, you say???    Because I've been selected for their DT!!!  YEA!!!   So honored to be a MAVEN!!!

And this week please join us at FROSTED DESIGNS FOR SKETCH ALONG TUESDAY!!!
Here is this week's sketch & my layout:
I also combined my sketch with the regular weekly challenge to use THANKS!!
I wrote a little thank you note to my parents (and gave them this layout) as they just sold this house we grew up in.  .. used Basic Grey Pyrus...and I handstitched beads along the borders.

And over at SCRAP OUR STASH I used sketch #3 for this layout... Go over there and join the fun this month!!  We have 3 sketches to play with!!

And this week at the Club CK blog, the Issue challenge was to do journaling behind a "punched out" spot or some kind of hidden journaling.  I used Basic Grey Oliver...I had the 1/2 circle cut & the journal tags picked out and then I didn't like how "white" that spot looked, so I misted it.  But then I liked my misting so much that I didn't want to cover it up with the journal tags, so I switched & used a transparancy & slick writer.

Lot of fun layouts and SOME BIG NEWS!!!!

Ok...I'll tell the news first.....  I can happily announce that I'll be joining the Design Team at MEMORABLE SEASONS -- So excited, so honored and so proud to be part of this team.  And the store ROCKS...Where else can you get "just released" product for 20% off...I mean she gets it in, and lists it for 20% off...not that you have to wait 6 months for a sale. .... and speaking of sales.... VERY OFTEN Jill has a sale and puts all the new stuff on sale too....what?  Yep, not kidding...you can very often get product that is only a few months old for 40% off....  And we have a very fun Message Board too... not too big and not too small.....like Goldilocks said "Just Right"!!!   If you visit, please be sure to say that I sent you!!

Ok..on to some layouts:

SCRAPBOOKERS ANONYMOUS November challenge is to use HOLIDAY paper on a non-holiday layout.  Well, I love die-cut paper, so I bought this Halloween paper from Pink Paislee's Hocus Pocus line...and we don't really celebrate Halloween.  So I used it here with the center cut out for a layout about our new hamster.

One of the very talented ladies, Carol Sheetz, over at the Memorable Seasons board did her first sketch ...It's really awesme and it's posted at the CLIP IT UP blog.  I liked it so much I printed it out and it didn't sit too long on my sb table before it turned into this layout:     (Glitz papers, Studio Calico Wood stars, ..oh, I actually cut the paper in the circle shape..I was trying to just score it but I pressed too hard..oh, well..it turned out ok!)

And I did 2 sketches over at SKETCH SAVVY that I wanted to share:

And today is DT posting day over at ALPHABET CHALLENGE where this week is C=Cats.
Ok, we're not cat people, but Lions are cats right?  I pulled out these old photos of Joseph.

This layout I made for William, the adoption counselor at the Arizona Humane Society (where we adopted Ella, the hamster).  He mentioned that he always gets photos of dogs & cats in their "new homes" but never of "critters".  So I made him this layout (words in the voice of the hamster) and dropped it off the other day.
(Used Teresa Collines Celebrate line)

Over at MEMORABLE SEASONS Megan hosted a challenge this week to use a "grid" design on your layout.  So, I did this one...pretty simple, but I got stuck at the end and didn't want to "over kill" it, so it's DONE.  I'm ok with that...

Also, Kristin at Memorable Seaons hosted a challenge to do a mini with stripes & 3 diff color flowers...

Cutest Catcher & Love Bug & Our Faces...

Ok..first and foremost..my son Joseph did a layout this week...so please go over to his blog and be sure to leave him some love... HERE HERE HERE....

Ok...now for me...  This layout is for the FAVORITE SPORTS challenge over at FAVORITE THINGS...

And this month at SCRAP OUR STASH we have 3 sketches for our readers to use...  This is my interpretation of sketch #2...

And at MEMORABLE SEASONS we had a color challenge this week...
And this is the layout I completed..

Frown Monster & Whooo?

This week at FROSTED DESIGNS I got to choose the challenge!!!  I chose the challenge of using an OVERSIZE photo (or image for cardmakers) to create your project.  I made this layout using various old & new Jillibean Soup lines.

And at ALPHABET CHALLENGE our challenge is B=Birds..so I made this layout of Joseph using a photo taken the "last day he was 6 yrs old"...  I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy for my inspiration.
Oh...just a note..those "canvas" Thickers never seem to stick so I always just take it to my sewing machine and run a stitch across them.

This was for Club CK blog...challenge to use KRAFT -- I used it as my background.  I kept the patterns/colors/embellies to a minimum to highlight the simplicity of the bridge and the concept of the question & answer....

Also, I went back and used an OLD sketch from SKETCH SAVVY (#31) because really?...do sketches ever go out of style??  I loved that I was able to use the tickets from the game on this layout in a unique way but it documented the date and place.

Loving Life

Oh my..I almost forgot to post this...I did the layout over the weekend and then forgot to photo it...realized it tonight as we were losing light...so I had to take pics at an angle to not have a glare.  But I REALLY love how this layout turned out, so I wanted to be able to get it up to SKETCHY THURSDAYS on time!!
I used Sassafras Mix & Mend and I "cut out" the bottom paper so I could tuck in the 1/2 die cut piece.  Various embellies...

Sketch time at SOS & Frosted Designs!!

This month at Scrap Our Stash we have 3 fabulous sketches for our challenges.  This is Sketch #1 and the layout I did using it......    This is Joseph at our local "trampoline" place, (called Jumpstreet)... going off the trampoline & into the Foam Pit.  (the age minimum is 8, but they let him do it once since it was his 7th Birthday party)...  I used Playing cards for the J (Joseph) and 7 (7 years old) -- I also used my October Scrapbook Circle kit.

And over at FROSTED DESIGNS, they've added a sketch challenge every other week and I'm proud to say that I'm going to be on the sketch team.   The sketches post on Tuesdays and I SOOO missed putting this up yesterday.... (new day I have to remember!!)...
