Frosted Designs Blog Hop & this years Teacher Gift featuring Gelatos!

Hello there fellow crafters!!!  Welcome to our "Gift of Giving" Blog Hop!

With the holiday season lurking just around the corner, we decided to give our members some ideas for fabulous handmade items that can be gifted this year!  Our Design Team has been working really hard so sit back and enjoy the show as you "hop" along with us!

As you hop along, you will notice each Design Team member has a "secret" word on their blog that makes a quote (mine is here...just keep going to find it).  After you've completed the hop, go back to (the Frosted Designs Blog) to see how to send in the quote.  One winner will be randomly selected from the comments to win a $20.00 Gift Certificate to the Frosted Designs Store!!!!

We also have some other fabulous prizes up for grabs!
Creative Embellishments is offering up a $20.00 Gift Certificate to their AMAZING online store full of chipboard, stamps, flair, and more!!!!

Regina from The Cutting Cafe has generously offered winner's choice for THREE SETS of their choosing to her online store FULL of digi stamps and cut files for EVERY occasion (no, seriously... EVERY occasion!!)!!!!!

So what are you waiting for?!?  Let's get hopping!!!
Here is the line-up in case you get lost along the way:

You have until midnight on November 14th to "hop" along with us!  As you hop, be sure to write down the "secret" word from each member's blog.  CLICK ON LORI's name above to go to her blog next!!  (after you check out my project below, of course!)

My project is for my son's 5th grade teacher.  I bought a blank door hanger and wanted to make her a door hanger....

I used Gelatos from the Frosted Designs store --

On a white sheet of Cardstock, I measured 1 color per 2 inches...

And then I scribbled the Gelato color in each row...

Then I used my Water Brush (from the Frosted Designs store) to "spread" the gelato color -- kind of like spreading paint...
You can really see in the photo below if you check out the red where I've "spread it" vs. where it's still the raw gelato color.

Then I cut out the cardstock and adhered it to the hanger....(no photos of that... that'd be pretty boring, huh?)
I also Mod-Podge'd it to adhere it and to "set" the Gelato so they won't smear later.  When I did that, some of the gelato smeared from color to color...I tried to be careful and not smear too much, and I'm happy with how it turned out. -- I think it looks "blended".

I put "Come in" on one side and I ORIGINALLY put "Please Wait" on the 2nd side....but when my son saw it, he told me that was not correct.  He said it should say "SHH Testing".... I guess he would know best, so I changed it.

Added some modeling paste (from FD store), a few school-themed chipboard, canvas and rub-ons and this is my completed project that will go along with a gift card for a holiday teacher gift this season.

Oh...hope you got this far!!  My Secret word is ALREADY!!
