Friday night as we're walking to the Glendale Glitters event, I see this wall of Graffiti and remember that Meg Beauchamp (click here to see her post) had taken some awesome graffiti wall photos recently and posted on her blog. So, I make Joseph "pose" on the wall for me. Ok, so he doesn't "pose" nicely for me without some serious bribery, so this is what we ended up with. Somehow he just wanted to be silly and "ninja" the wall. It's all good. These are just a few of the shots.... watch for them on upcoming layouts (if Ican possibly do the photos justice)!!

2 layouts for Frosted Designs November sketch
Well, this sketch from Frosted Designs:
This must've really struck a chord with me since I ended up doing 2 layouts with it. Today as I'm posting them, I find irony in the fact that one is SUMMER & the other is WINTER.
Here they are:
Student of the Month (Sketch challenge at Practical Scrappers)
I completed this Student of the month layout from our weekend challenge at Practical Scrappers which was

Slide (Sketchy Thursday 11/19 sketch)
This sketch was a little challenging for me since I didn't really have any recent "smaller" photos. I went back to summer and found some slide pictures that worked just fine. I used Sasafrass Monstrosity line (exclusively, now that I look at it). TFL!

SOS Contest -- Fun times!!
Contest going on at Scrap Our Stash Blog -- a fun little game. Each Design Team member, (yes that fortunately includes myself) had taken a picture of their "stash". Then each DT member has left a clue somewhere on their blog. So, you just need to check out the photos & the blogs ... make the matches and enter. (see details on the SOS blog...linked above)
So without further ado: Here's my clue
You know, I'm a pretty messy scrapper. My table is always messy, I have so many supplies that I can't keep everything organized. So this also filters down to my "scraps"... my "extra" paper just gets shoved into a bin. Every once in a while when I clean off my table, I just toss all the extra embellies into another bin. Works for me, I guess..... My photo is literally a picture of my SCRAPS!!!

K - (stitching layout - Design Team - Practical Scrappers)
This week at Practical Scrappers our challenge is to STITCH on your layout. Machine stitch, hand stitch...even "faux" stitching is ok.
For this layout, I first adhered the photo to the white cardstock. I then stitched the 2 large rectangles...having them go on and off the photo. I then stitched the small rectangle around my son. I was actually thrilled with how straight I got the rectangles. Then, honestly....I got a mind block. This layout sat for 2-3 days and I just looked at it. Then I grabbed my Scrapbook Circle kit from Aug or Sept...(sorry don't remember which one...they are all so awesome). PP is Jillibean soup & Cosmo Boyfriend. That "bus" journal card is out of a Little Yellow Bicycle journal book (the coolest things in the world).
TFL!!

Lil' Swinger (Frosted Designs Guest Designer layout featuring "tearing")
Honored to be the Guest Designer again this week at Frosted Designs since my "Icky Cool" layout won their color challenge last week! This week's challenge is "tearing".
I used a sketch from 4x6 photo sketch blog and some Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg (red) & Ledger paper is Creative Imaginations. I tore the right edge of all papers & inked them, and "notebook" punched (then tore) the left edge of the large ledger paper. Added a few Bo Bunny chipboard pieces, arrow is from the CC Nutmeg line and alphas are Thickers. I little ribbon and wa-la. Oh, I "scratched" the frames around the photos (a fave technique of mine). I also had a "happy accident" with my title...it went a little longer than I had planned and the last R didn't show very well since it was dark on dark...so I added that little swatch of ledger paper (that was torn from the bottom of the large piece)... Love happy accidents!! TFL!

Flying Free (Sketchy Thursday 11.12 sketch)
This is the first time I've done a sketch for a site called Sketchy Thursday...but I think it won't be my last. The sketches are awesome. So go check them out here.
I used my Scrapbook Circle Nov kit (check that out here.)
This is older photos of Joseph, but when I was just going through some older photos, I knew I had to grab them and do this. TFL.

Colors of Summer (Acrylic Paint - Practical Scrappers DT)
Funny how this layout started. I was painting blue letters for another layout...and had squeezed out too much blue onto my pallette. So I took my brush and just made the big blue line along the edge of the paper to "not waste" the paint. I do this quite often and then the piece of "painted" cardstock just goes into my scrap bin for "later" inspiration.
So a few days later, I have the DT assignment in the back of my mind and I come across this Sassafrass Rainbow patterned paper. It hit me...I dug out that cardstock with the paint and added the 3 other colors to "semi" match the rainbow. Dug out different color Thickers...didn't have the right color of blue ....so I painted some to match.
Journaling is about how Joseph's smile is like all colors of the rainbow...Precious.
TFL!!

Just 6 Layout (Guest Designer for Frosted Designs)
I love this picture of Joseph. So, I think this is the 2nd time I've scrapped it in just a few weeks. Do you guys do that too? Scrap the same (favorite) photo a couple of times? Anyhoo....
I was the Guest Designer for Frosted Designs this week. What an honor!! The challenge was BLING...and lots of it. Okay, so I have a boy...But I must tell you....BLING & BOYS DO GO TOGETHER. (As do Boys & Flowers). So this is my layout for Frosted Designs this week. And close-up below...
I started with my November kit from Scrapbook Circle. (white cardstock, Red Crate PP & JilliBean Soup alphas)...but then I strayed into my own stash. Bazzill Bling circle (around the 6), some glitter on the letters, Some Prima bling (hearts) & Kaiser bling (Rhinestones), circle journal spot is also Jillibean Soup & label with date is a Luxe sticker.

Click on the link above to see the details for this week's challenge at Frosted Designs. It's a color challenge to use Brown, Orange and Teal (only these 3 colors).
So here's what I came up with. I used Orange Smooch to accent a little between the big & small strip of paper. (Lovin' the new Smooches!!)

A few layouts from last week
I don't usually post layouts here unless they're for a challenge or I REALLY like them. But, I'm rethinking that logic. So, I'm going to post a few of my faves from last week. (Other than those already posted in their own post which you can view by either scrolling down or by navigating to them via the BLOG ARCHIVE section in the right column).

Kindergarten (Practical Scrapper Tri-challenge)
Please note: There are 2 posts for today, please scoll down or use blog archive in right column to see a "BEARY CUTE" layout.
This week we're having a Tri-Challege at Practical Scrappers in conjunction with 2 other sites.
Sketch from Stuck on You Sketches and Frosted Designs to use an Owl plus our challenge to use 3 ribbons.
I used large red ric-rac, small yellow ric-rac, sheer abc ribbon & red felt border. I flipped the sketch and put the owl above the photo. The owl is a sticker that I mounted onto some clear packaging and popped up. Also, above the photo I stitched a little pocket into the patterned paper & cardstock and made a little pocket and put a little journal card (1st Day of School) and added a sweet little private note to my son. (I don't usually do hidden journaling, so this was a little departure from the norm for me.---that's always a good thing!)
Beary Cute (Practical Scrappers 3 Ribbon challenge)
This week at Practical Scrappers our challenge was to use 3 different ribbons. I used some yellow twill under the title, brown ric-rac around the circle edge and a little strip of red along the right lower edge of the photo.
This is Joseph at his first Build-a-Bear party. He named his bear "Prince", since he was the only boy at Jocelyn's Build-a-Bear and Princess birthday party. I just realized I didn't put the date on the layout. Need to go back and do that. Photo/party was Sept 20th.
